  • To Everything There is a Season: Mining the Gold of Later Life – Life’s challenges seem to become greater the older we get: bodies don’t feel or perform as they used to; minds function a little differently than when we were younger; family and work responsibilities and relationships change; perhaps death has severed a lifelong partnership. The world is changing rapidly and it may feel too difficult to keep up. Faced with life changes and uncertainty about their ability to cope, it is not surprising that many people experience mixed emotions in relation to growing older.  This workshop examines the life of Solomon as he describes it in the Book of Ecclesiastes. From studying Solomon’s life, learners will reflect on their own lives, come to understand their attitudes and feelings toward aging and develop a personal plan to help them confront the challenges of aging in a positive and constructive way.
  • Life Writing – There are few things more important to us as we grow older than gaining perspective on our own life story, and understanding that our lives have mattered. This workshop will provide an opportunity to revisit old memories, meaningful life events, and emotions, and to record them into a written legacy. Workshop activities encompass group interaction, private reflection and writing, and sharing life stories and thoughts in a mutually encouraging group.
